Beach Bag

Hey Beauties!
So weather you live in paradise or are just visiting for a few weeks, we all come to a point when we need to pack a beach bag and while its important to always have what you need sometimes we get bogged down trying to include everything! So here is a list of some of the best things to keep in your beach bag.
  •  Sunnies: They come in all shapes and sizes but these aviators are some of my favorites and work well with almost every outfit
  • Vera Bradley Wristlet: This wristlet is the best for almost every kind of occasion because while I love having a deep beach bag that will hold all of my beach needs, its nice to have all of the essentials like money, phone and my license in one place.
  • Water: This one is forgotten most often but is usually the most important. While laying out on the beach, or at the pool, its easy to become dehydrated and its the best to have water handy.
  • A Book: While I may love just laying out, sometime it can get boring and is the best time to pull out a summer read such as Eleanor and Park the book above. I've just added this to my bag and can't wait to get started on it.
  • Sunscreen: I will honestly admit that there have been times I've forgone the protection and skipped the sunscreen but in the end this decision is only painful and may have long term effects so lather up, spay on or rub in that sunscreen.
  • I-pod: One of the worst things is walking out of house without your i-pod and weather you have a fancy new i pod touch or a beat up nano like me its one of the most important things in the bag.
  • Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Sea Salt Spray: (phew! the title's long but worth it) This is one of my favorite ways to get beachy hair, just spray in and scrunch your hair after a dip in the sea or the pool and you're good to go.
  • Make-up Bag: There are many different things you can throw into your summer make up bag but I usually like to keep the makeup minimal, so I just throw in Maybelline's Mega Plush Mascara and Nivea's rasberry rose lip butter, and a make-up mirror.

So comment below letting me know what you take with you to the beach !
xoxo Lilly

March Favorites/My Everyday Makeup Products!

Hey beauties!

Today I'm gonna be telling you about the makeup products I use on a daily basis!  This is kind of like a mixture of an everyday makeup/march favorites/mini product review allll in one!  And........ I finally have a picture with GOOD QUALITY!!!! If you can't tell I'm pretty excited so lets start!

So here's all of the lovely products I put on my face everyday :3  From Maybelline to MAC, this mixture of makeup is what I use to achieve my everyday look.  All of these products I would DEFINITELY repurchase (which I have already done in the case of a few of them!) and highly recommend each and every one of these to everyone!  I'll tell you about each of them in the order that I use them c:

FACE:
  • I start off with my Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream (top right corner) which can be found in the makeup section of any local drugstore! I did a review on this here a while back when I first started blogging but overall I think it's great especially for a drugstore BB cream!  It doesn't completely give me the coverage I need but it does a wonderful job at evening out my skin tone.
  • Next, I conceal all of my lovely little spots and acne scars with my Revlon Photo Ready Concealer (top left corner) which can also be found at your local drugstore or Ulta!  I believe this is my second container of this concealer and I love it! I have very bad acne and scarring and it definitely helps cover everything up.
  • To set my BB cream and concealer, I use my MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation (bottom middle) which makes your skin look UH-mazing!  It's a bit pricy but I think it's definitely worth it since powders last for so long!
  • To give some warmth to my face, I use the Benefit Hoola Bronzing Powder! This is another more expensive product but I love it sooo much and I'm definitely purchasing the full size when I finish my sample!
  • Last but not least for my face, I have my blusher!  I use my MAC Cream Blush in Ladyblush (bottom left) which is unfortunately discontinued :c  Don't worry though, because I have another favorite blush!  The only reason it's not in the picture is because I couldn't find it.... But it's the NARS Blush in Orgasm.  Terrible name, but it really is wonderful and I feel like it looks great with every skin tone!

EYES:
  • Before you put anything on your eyes, you alllways have to use a primer! Well you don't HAVE to but I definitely recommend it.  My favorite is the Urban Decay Primer Potion (middle left) which you've probably heard of if you're familiar with makeup.  It has a great reputation for a reason and it keeps my eyeshadow on all day!
  • For eyeshadow, my absolute favorite palette is my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette (top middle)! There are sooo many different looks you can achieve with this palette but I usually stick to a simple, natural one.  I did an everyday makeup tutorial post a while ago here if you would like to see how I usually wear it!
  • I actually haven't been using pencil/gel/liquid eyeliner recently so I just line my eyes with a dark, matte brown shadow in my Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Palette (bottom right).  Sometimes I'll also use the same color to fill in my brows a bit!
  • And now for my favorite product EVER! The Benefit They're Real Mascara (middle right)!!!  I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this mascara!  It makes my lashes look so luscious and long and ahh it's just perfect so you should definitely try it out if you haven't already!
LIPS:

  • Since I don't wear lipstick everyday, I usually wear lip balm to keep my lips nice n' soft!  If I want to add a pop of color, I love using my Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in Pink Punch (top left).  It's such an adorable pink color and it can add a cute hint of color to a simple look :)

Since this is kind of a favorites post, I figured I'd tell you guys a couple random favorites!

Music Favorite: Anything from Les Miserables especially One Day More :3
Clothing Favorite: this is kinda lame but I just bought a pair of hot pink Boyfriend style pants from PINK and they're sooooo comfy and I can't stop wearing them!
Really Random Favorite: MY TAMAGOTCHI! I just found my old V3 and the addiction has returned....
Favorite Book: The Great Gatsby! I finally read it over vacation this month and it's AMAZING.
Human Favorite (sounds weird): My girl Carolina!!! She's just starting her blog so go check it out because she's adorable and funny and beaaautiful and she has a killer sense of style and she's also one of my very closest friends! <3 http://carolinaelizafashionandbeauty.blogspot.com/

Well, I hope you guys enjoyed this post!  I had fun doing it so let me know if you'd like my to start doing monthly favorites or more in depth review with swatches n' stuff :3  Also, I'd love to hear some of your favorite products!

I hope you all have an absolutely lovely week!

XOXO,
Rae

Just Relax...

Bonjour mes amies! ;*

Tonight I felt like doing a quick post on something non beauty-related.  No matter if you're in middle school, high school, college, or living the average adult life, it's so easy to get stressed and wound up in all of the craziness of this generation!  Taking moments to relax are so important and will honestly make you appreciate every day a little bit more.  So, as you might've guessed, I'm gonna be giving you some ways to relax :)

  • When I'm a bit overwhelmed with school, I like to go make a cup of tea (green tea during the daytime, and Celestial's Sleepytime Tea at night), head into my room and sit on my bed.  While I'm sitting and sipping on my delicious tea, I take a few deep breaths (all through my nose, it makes such a difference!) and try to block out all of the crazy thoughts going through my head.  Sometimes it can be difficult to block so many thoughts so if you're easily distracted like me, put on some headphones and listen to some slow, relaxing music.  The Lumineers, Sleeping At Last, Bon Iver, and Mumford and Sons are some of my favorite bands that always manage to get me relaxed and in a fabulous mood.  Try to avoid texting or going on any social networks until you've finished your tea.  After this 5-10 minute period of time, you should feel very refreshed :)
  • If you're looking for some extreme relaxation and have some time to spare, I HIGHLY recommend doing some yoga!  You can either go and take a class or just do it at home!  If you're unfamiliar with yoga and can't make it to a class, there's a fantastic app I just found called Yoga Studio that has over 100 yoga poses and gives step by step instructions for each one.  It also has a bunch of different pose sequences that you can choose from depending on whether you're at a beginner or intermediate level!  If you can make it to a yoga class though, definitely go for it!  I recently took my very first Bikram yoga class and it was INCREDIBLE!  If you've never heard of Bikram yoga, it is a special combination of yoga poses and breathing exercises and done in a room with a temperature between 110-120 with 40% humidity.  So basically you sweat buckets for 90 minutes but after, you feel absolutely amazing.  Honestly, it does feel a bit like you're dying of heat during the class, but the results make it soooo worth it!  It's also a great workout that doesn't feel like a workout!  It may be a little scary to take a Bikram class so just a regular yoga class will work just as well!
  • One of my most favoritest things to do is read!  Reading is also a fabulous way to relax.  Getting lost within the pages of a book is a truly inexplicable feeling and the greatest form of magic in my opinion.  There are so many amazing novels out there and the best way to get away from a stress-filled day is to escape into another world where all of your worries can be set aside for a while.  A couple of my favorite books are the Harry Potter books (obviously), The Divergent trilogy (Divergent and Insurgent. The last one still hasn't come out!), The Night Circus, Delirium, Pandemonium, The Maze Runner, The Fault In Our Stars, The Hunger Games trilogy, and soooo many more!  Curling up with a good book is my favorite form of relaxation :)
I really hope you enjoy these tips!  Feel free to comment telling me about your favorite ways to relax because I'd love to hear them!  I hope you all have a brilliant week and don't forget to take moments to relax :)

XOXO,
Rae <3
